Overview A Multi-Engine Rating allows you to fly ME piston engine aircraft weighing up to 12,000 pounds. You may need additional endorsements for pressurized-cabin aircraft or various layouts. RequirementsYou must hold a valid PPL license or CPL Category Rating Airplane and Single Engine Land Rating, this can be also a validation of your non-us pilot license. There is no minimum flight time requirement.In our experience, you will need approx. 15-30 hours on a multi-engine aircraft to complete the ME. Once earned, a multi-engine rating is valid for life. We recommend getting an instrument rating first. This way, once you earn the multi-engine rating, you will be authorized to fly multi-engine airplanes under 12,000 lbs under instrument flight rules. |
